On Friday 12th February 2010 we washed down the walls and areas affected with mould, and then left a coating of the special mould killer to dry in when we left.
We were advised by an expect about which mould killer to get, and this one was recommended. Due to the mould not being washed off on the wall in the bedroom and at the bottom of the stairs, the paint had become ingrained with mould and requred sanding before we can treat with a special mould paint, we will be doing this on Saturday. We were also recommended the paint which has a mould technology and
is designed for moist areas, although the new fans should stop this in future. We will be putting one coat on on Saturday and returning Sunday to put the second coat on, as it requires 6 hours drying time between coats. We will leave the bedroom window open a little to keep fumes to a minimum. The grout in the bathroom has been cleaned but would ask you to keep this under control until we find a suitable tenant or until your contract is up. Due to cleaning the grout, we were unable to replace the silicon seal today, so will get that replaced on
Sunday.
Due to personal commitments next weekend we will need to come back on either Friday 26th Feb or Saturday 27th Feb to paint the window in the bathroom.
We have left the heating on at the recommended temperature for the cottage which is 18 degrees, as we found the thermostat had been set to just 12 degrees, which is not good for the property given the freezing temperatures forecacst. Your room thermometer said turn the heating up and today the thermometer said it was the correct temperature.
Due to the fact that your term is nearly up, we have put an advert for the cottage in the local papershop.
